A hard fought game at Saddleworth A with Alpha B, resulting in a 10-8 win for the home team. Well done to C players Harvey Birch & Tom Whitehead, who crucially won both their games for Saddleworth A. Some very tight games played which could have swayed the match in either teams favour.

Saddleworth sit at the top of the Division with a 13 point lead, but have to be realistic in that David Lloyd have 2 games in hand at the moment due to the match this week being rearranged for March next year.

The only other game to be played this week was Hay’s A hosting GHAP B. Hay’s A did themselves a massive favour league wise by getting a really good result of 16-2 to pull themselves within 2 points of Saddleworth A with a game in hand. Hey’s A player’s Jordan Pilgrim & Sam Kelly both had a strong showing winning all 8 games they played, but shout out to Shawaiz Butt & Franklin Chow for taking the first game of the A pairings to a 21-20 narrow loss.

This is the hardest division at the moment with some real competition going on. David Lloyd have a game in hand against Hey’s A who in turn have an 11 point lead at this moment in time.

Looking forward to next week when David Lloyd travel to Oakgate B & Hey’s A host Alpha C. Those matches will be more about how many points can be stolen from both Hey’s A & David Lloyd, and how that could influence the top of the table.

Alpha B will be hosting GHAP B, looking to try rebound from this week’s game, & Todmorden host Shawclough A for their first meeting of the season, no doubt bit of a grudge match after the end of last season!
