Verbal or physical abuse are not acceptable, and refrain from bullying or intimidating behaviour both to your opponents and your partner. We play within the rules of badminton set down by Badminton England with exceptions as laid out in 'Match Rules' available on our website ORBL.org.uk. </p> <!– /wp:paragraph –><!– wp:paragraph {"style":{"typography":{"textAlign":"left"}}} –> <p class="has-text-align-left">Applaud good performance from BOTH sides and congratulate opponents and partners, regardless of the outcome. Always be prepared to shake hands over the net at the end of each game. </p> <!– /wp:paragraph –><!– wp:paragraph {"style":{"typography":{"textAlign":"left"}}} –> <p class="has-text-align-left">Ensure personal safety and that of others by avoiding dangerous play. Make everyone aware of any hazards and endeavour to help injured players, giving them an appropriate time to recover. </p> <!– /wp:paragraph –><!– wp:paragraph {"style":{"typography":{"textAlign":"left"}}} –> <p class="has-text-align-left">Respect everyone equally, regardless of age, gender, ability, race, or sexual orientation. </p> <!– /wp:paragraph –><!– wp:paragraph {"style":{"typography":{"textAlign":"left"}}} –> <p class="has-text-align-left">Wear appropriate non-marking footwear and suitable clothing for badminton. Any motif on clothing must not cause offence to anyone, especially those mentioned in the 'respect' section above. </p> <!– /wp:paragraph –><!– wp:paragraph {"style":{"typography":{"textAlign":"left"}}} –> <p class="has-text-align-left">Make sure to arrive before match times, and follow any club procedures to allow everyone to play their fair share of games and allow matches to be completed. </p> <!– /wp:paragraph –><!– wp:paragraph {"style":{"typography":{"textAlign":"left"}}} –> <p class="has-text-align-left">Any dispute should firstly be handled by the Captains in a match or Club Officials on Club nights. Clubs are required to make sure all members are made aware of these rules and accept them, not being aware of rules will not be accepted as an excuse. </p> <!– /wp:paragraph –><!– wp:paragraph {"style":{"typography":{"textAlign":"left"}}} –> <p class="has-text-align-left">Inappropriate Behaviors: Shouting, swearing, or using abusive language at others or yourself. Arguing with others or being overly aggressive in any situation. Any physical aggression such as pushing, hitting or raising of fists. Ignoring safety measures or neglecting equipment safety. Bringing the sport into disrepute.</p> <!– /wp:paragraph –><!– wp:paragraph {"style":{"typography":{"textAlign":"left"}}} –> <p class="has-text-align-left"> </p> <!– /wp:paragraph –><!– wp:paragraph {"style":{"typography":{"textAlign":"left"}}} –> <p class="has-text-align-left">Sanctions. Any serious breaches of this code of conduct reported to the Committee will be investigated and if it appears to the Committee that a breach as taken place sanctions will be imposed. Firstly any players shown to be involved will be ‘yellow carded’ and either receive a written warning or/and a suspension for a defined period. On any further breach within the next 2 seasons a player will be ‘red carded’ and banned from the league for at least 1 season.</p> <!– /wp:paragraph –>
